Dear Baruch Faculty:
As you may be aware, CUNY CIS upgrades Blackboard once a year. The Fall 2016 Blackboard upgrade is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, December 27 at 6:30 AM and to be completed by the end of business on Wednesday, December 28. During this time, Blackboard will be taken offline and there will be no access to the environment. The downtime required for the upgrade necessitates that the work be performed in the week between the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, as this is the only time when classes are not in session on any CUNY campus. Testing for the upgrade was completed in early November and no technical issues were identified.
We strongly recommend that you submit grades for the fall term as early as possible. The due date for the submission of Fall 2016 grades is Monday, January 2, 2017 (11:59pm). We apologize for any impact the upgrade may have on grade submission. Please be advised that the downtime is an estimate based on current planning. We we will do everything we can to make the downtime as brief as possible.
