Undergraduate Research and Engagement Faculty Lunch Seminar
Researching Everyday Problem-Solving
Thursday, March 23, 1:00 p.m., NVC 6-210
Lunch will be served and seating is limited
RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org
From: Professor Esther Allen, Department of Modern Languages and Comparative Literature
With support from a National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) grant, Prof. Daniele Artistico and his students Kiley Cappetta and Matthew Liu test whether everyday problem-solving ability is sustained in older adulthood, and whether idiosyncratic points of personal strength aid feelings of self-efficacy for solving such problems among young, middle-aged, and older adults. The REU program, run by Baruch's Department of Psychology, offers advanced research training to undergraduates and pays them for their 10+ hours per week in the lab. At this lunch seminar, Prof. Artistico and his students will discuss the studies they are currently carrying out and present some of their findings.
