Responding to ESL Writers Across the Disciplines

Wednesday, March 14, 2:30-4:00pm

This roundtable discussion will be led by Dr. Christine Rosalia of the School of Education at Hunter College and will address some of the struggles experienced by both non-native speakers of English and their teachers. We will explore some of the perceptions, expectations, and experiences of faculty and ESL students in order to understand better our current pedagogical practices and expected outcomes. We will likewise identify techniques for reading, evaluating, and responding to student writing that can stimulate language acquisition and critical expression.
