From:  Arthur Downing, CIO & Chief Librarian

On June 24, 2013 the CUNY Board of Trustees voted to raise library overdue fines and establish a uniform practice regarding faculty fines across the university.  This means that Baruch faculty will be charged overdue fines for materials borrowed from the Newman Library effective January 27, 2014 when the CUNY Office of Library Services updates its computer system values to implement this change required by the Board.

One overdue book or a total of $5.00 or more in unpaid charges will trigger the automatic blocking of library privileges in the CUNY library system.  Please note that library fines collected by the campuses are deposited into a central CUNY fund that is not directed toward the libraries.

The new fine policies and amounts are posted on the College’s web site: http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/bpi/Library_Fines_and_Fees.htm
