From:  Myung-Soo Lee, Vice Provost for Global Strategies & Professor of Marketing

Thursday, September 22, 12:30 to 2:00 pm, NVC 8-210

The first Weissman Global Seminar of Fall 2016 of the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences will feature a workshop on Collaborative International Online Learning (COIL): http://coil.suny.edu/page/course-models.

Collaborative Online International Learning

(COIL) offers multicultural learning environments that digitally link university or college classes in different countries. Through COIL, students from different countries enroll in shared courses managed by faculty members from each country. The ways in which these blended global experiences operate are highly flexible and can be tailored to suit course objectives. This form of global partnership offers a cost-effective and wide-reaching opportunity for Baruch to meet its goal of becoming a more international campus. This workshop will offer a brief introduction to COIL and an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and discuss how to implement COIL at Baruch.

Light refreshments will be available.

RSVP to saul.garcia@baruch.cuny.edu by September 19.

Launched in Spring 2016, the Weissman Global Seminar will be a vibrant forum and incubator for faculty research and curriculum development in global studies and education. Monthly seminars will feature faculty research presentations, occasional guest lectures, and workshops on global learning goals, pedagogy, and faculty-led international courses.
