Dear Colleagues,

CUNY’s annual CUE (Coordinated Undergraduate Education) Conference will be held this year at LaGuardia Community College. The theme is “Learning Inside and Outside the Classroom,” and the keynote speaker will be Dr. George D. Kuh, an internationally recognized educator and Director of the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment.

Howard M. Wach, Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs at LaGuardia, writes:

“Our goal for the conference is to bring together faculty and staff from across the university to share ideas and practices which reach across the institutional divisions which too often hinder our efforts to educate the ‘whole student.’ We want to hear about efforts to bridge the cognitive and affective dimensions of learning, or to influence the dispositions of students toward greater self-efficacy and, of course, toward more successful outcomes. We want to know how these innovations and collaborations are working, what impact they are having on how we teach and how students learn, and how their successes (or setbacks) can help us learn how to plan for the future. Our conference tracks reflect some of the sites where such efforts are often housed, but we also encourage presentations which cross these locations in the service of reaching the whole student.”

Proposals for presentations are due by Monday, March 3. The conference web site, including program information and registration and proposal submission forms, can be found at  http://laguardia.edu/CUEconference2014.
