Blum is President-Elect of the New York Chapter of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR). Blum teaches survey research at Baruch, has taught the NYAAPOR “Meet the Masters” question writing workshop for survey researchers, and has published invited “Ask the Experts” election polling analysis in AAPOR’s online publication, Survey Practice. She has also served on the national AAPOR Council and is an elected member of the Market Research Council.
Blum appears frequently on TV as a polling and election analyst, including as a regular panelist for WPIX News Close-Up on Sunday mornings. She was the NY1 pollster for 13 years and has moderated and presented at many public forums and professional conferences.
As President of Blum & Weprin, an independent public opinion firm, Blum’s clients included NY1, NBC News, The Daily News, The Dallas Morning News, The New York Times Magazine, Newsday, The Star-Ledger, the New York Yankees, Public Agenda, the Hispanic Federation and the National and New York Urban Leagues. Before founding her own firm, Blum was Manager of Polling & Election Operations at NBC News for 11 years.
Blum earned a Master’s degree in Psychological Measurement, Evaluation and Statistics from Teachers College, Columbia University.
