Jay Dahya is an Associate Professor of Economics and Finance at the Zicklin School of Business. He is also adjunct faculty in finance at Columbia University. Dahya has industry experience in mergers and acquisitions in the capital markets and investment banking group at Merrill Lynch, and Andersen Consulting. He advises and conducts training for Merrill Lynch, Citigroup, Blackrock, Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, British Airways, Rockwell Automation, and Volkswagen, among others. He is ad-hoc advisor to E.U. Monopolies and Mergers Commission, London City Panel on Takeovers, Securities and Exchange Commission, London Stock Exchange, Shenzen Stock Exchange, Stock Exchange Board of India, NYS Public Authorities, and UNHCR.
Dahya is on the Editorial Board for the International Journal of Accounting and Finance and is a reviewer for several publications including the European Financial Management, the Multinational Finance Journal, the Economic Journal, Applied Financial Economics, the Financial Review, and the Journal of Portfolio Management.
Dahya’s work has been featured in several publications and media including the Journal of Financial Economics, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Journal of Alternative Investments, and the Journal of Corporate Finance. He has served as a commentator on Newsweek, Newsday, BBC Radio 4, NPR, CNBC, CNN International, NHK and TV Tokyo, among others.
He earned a B.A, in Accounting, an M.S. in Accounting and Finance, and a Ph.D. in Finance from Dundee University.
