As the Executive Director of the Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute, Jack Nyman leads strategic planning and partnerships, guides education programs, research, publishing, and public events; and manages operations.

In 2009 Nyman was elected vice chair of the executive board of Urban Green Council, the New York chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. He also serves on the board of CUNY’s Institute for Urban Systems, CUNY’s and Baruch College’s Sustainability Task Forces and the Sustainability Practice Network.
Nyman is an associate of the American Institute of Architects, a Fellow of the Institute for Urban Design and is affiliated with the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association, American Planning Association, National Association of Real Estate Trusts, New York Building Congress, Urban Land Institute, Real Estate Board of New York, The Municipal Arts Society, Harvard Club of New York, and the Harvard Academic Real Estate Initiative.
He has been featured as an expert in several top-tier publications including The New York Times, and Crain’s New York Business.
Nyman holds a Master of Architecture degree with a concentration in building science from Arizona State University, and an advanced Master’s in Real Estate Development with a concentration in finance from Harvard University. He was awarded a Harvard Fellowship studying real estate law and strategic management.
