Baruch College Hosts Fourth-Generation Finnish Executive For Guest Lecture on Development of an Owners Vision

NEW YORK, NY October 14, 2015 Family-owned companies sometimes run into challenges after the first or second generation is no longer in charge. On October 22, a fourth-generation member of the family that owns Finland’s leading bakery and confectionary company will speak at Baruch College on “The Development of an Owner’s Vision.”

The lecture is sponsored by Baruch’s Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship, which provides entrepreneurship education based on active collaboration with government organizations and private companies. The lecture is the Center’s annual Global Family Business Event.

Lena Jungell is a board member of Fazer Amica, the Fazer Group’s catering division, and the great-granddaughter of Karl Fazer, who founded the company in 1891. She will talk about the unique issues faced by family-owned businesses, and about their potential to become stewards for sustainable enterprise. Jungell also works at Mirror Learning, a Finnish consulting company, on issues of governance and dynamics within family businesses.

A Q&A session will follow, and lunch will be served. The event is free, but advanced registration is required. To register, visit
