Baruch College to Host "Brilliantly Twisted" with New Yorker Cartoonists

NEW YORK, NY -- September 11, 2015 -The Wasserman Jewish Studies Center, located in the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences at Baruch College  will host “Brilliantly Twisted” conversations with New Yorker Cartoonists Arnie Levin, Sam Gross and author Richard Gehr on Monday September 21 at 5:30 p.m. “I Only Read It for the Cartoons: The New Yorker’s Most Brilliantly Twisted Artists” touches upon the rich history of the famed magazine’s cartoons and the artists who create them. Richard Gehr has written extensively about this vibrant and unique phenomenon, and will lead a discussion with two prominent artists in Arnie Levin and Sam Gross.

Richard Gehr has been writing about music, culture, and travel for quite a while. He has been an editor for the Los Angeles Reader, Spin, and Sonicnet/MTV Interactive. He currently writes for Rolling Stone, Spin, The Village Voice, Relix, AARP: The Magazine, and other publications. His latest book, I Only Read It for the Cartoons: The New Yorker’s Most Brilliantly Twisted Artists was published in October 2014.
