Message From The President - Baruch College image
November 13, 2013
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
While the scholarly accomplishments of our students make headlines each semester, we certainly do not want to overlook the achievements of our Bearcat athletic teams. Congratulations to our women's volleyball and men's soccer teams—both of which won CUNYAC Championships last weekend and have received NCAA playoff bids—and to the women's cross-country team (below), which repeated as CUNYAC Champions at the 2013 6K Championships.
Baruch Women's Cross Country Team
This Friday, November 15, the volleyball team makes its fourth appearance in the NCAA Division III National Tournament, facing Springfield College in a first-round match at Williams College in Massachusetts. The team earned its spot after winning its third straight CUNYAC Tournament Championship with a five set win over archrival Hunter College. You can view a short video of the team's championship match point and celebration here.
Baruch Men's Soccer Team
On Saturday, November 16, the men's soccer team (above) competes against Stevens Institute of Technology in its NCAA Division III first-round tournament, taking place across the river in Hoboken, New Jersey. The team won the CUNYAC championship over CCNY with a sudden death overtime goal.
Good luck, Bearcats! We're very proud of you!
