Sad News on the Passing of a Student

I am deeply saddened to share the news that a Baruch College student, freshmen Kevin Manirampa passed away yesterday May 19, on campus. Before coming to Baruch, Kevin attended Concord High on Staten Island, where he lived with his family. Although he had only been at the College for the current academic year, Kevin’s presence will be missed.  We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I want to remind the Baruch Community that the Baruch Counseling Center is available to students, staff and faculty who may feel a need for support during this sad time. The Center can be contacted by calling (646) 312-2155 or visiting the website. Clinicians and staff from the Counseling Center will be available to meet with students in NVC 3-240, through 4:00p.m. today (May 20, 2014), or in the Counseling Center throughout the week.

I am confident we can all rely on the strength of our community to help us cope with this distressing news, and I urge students, in particular, to lean on each other, or any member of the Baruch faculty or staff, during this difficult time.

Sincerely,
Mitchel B. Wallerstein
