Promotion of Art King to Vice President
Affairs and Dean of Students, effective today, February 2, 2016. In this new capacity, Vice President King will report directly to me, as do the other vice presidents of the College.
Since arriving at Baruch in 2014, Art King has served as Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, and he has proven not only to be a highly effective and skilled student affairs leader but also someone who is capable of handling the most sensitive matters. Vice President King has astutely handled critical situations that had the potential to negatively impact our students and the reputation of Baruch College. Through his actions and his good judgment, Art has demonstrated that he fully deserves promotion to vice president.
Art King serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet at Baruch, and actively participates in cross-campus initiatives. He has both the knowledge and the experience of working with diverse student populations, a skill that is essential at Baruch. Prior to joining Baruch College, Mr. King served as Interim Vice President for Student Affairs and Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at San José State University.
Please join me in congratulating Vice President Art King!
