Message From The President - Baruch College

March 7, 2012

To the Baruch College Community,

I am pleased to announce that Monique Brown George has joined Baruch College as the new Director of Human Resources, effective Monday, March 5th. Monique is a Baruch alumna from the class of 1991 and a seasoned human resources professional with more than 15 years of experience in the field. She joins us from Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where she served as Associate Vice President of Human Resources since 2004.

Monique brings particular expertise in the areas of systems and process re-engineering and competitive trend analysis – two critical initiatives of the Office of Human Resources (OHR).

In her new role, Monique will lead the OHR in the handling of all academic and staff personnel and payroll matters pertaining to Baruch College employees. In addition, she will support the College in developing processes to promote College-wide human resources efficiency, the maintenance of a diverse group of talented employees, and the sensible and ethical use of College resources. Monique will serve as a liaison to labor union representatives and will be a key member of various College committees and boards affecting Baruch College employees. She will report to Mary Finnen, acting vice president for administration and finance.

Let me also take this opportunity to thank Donna Katz for all of her efforts over the last few months as the Acting Director of Human Resources. The Baruch College Community benefits both from the experiences of our long-term colleagues and from the energy and new thinking of new employees. Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Baruch College to Monique Brown George.

Regards,

Mitchel Wallerstein
President, Baruch College
