Baruch College Hosts North Campus "Turn on the Lights" Ceremony

NEW YORK, NY - March 6, 2012 - On March 19, 2012, Baruch College will be hosting a “Turn on the Lights” ceremony outside its Newman Vertical Campus. This event is being held to acknowledge the support the College received from our legislators and community partners who helped make the project possible.

The lighting enhancement project was developed in order to make the area around Baruch College’s North Campus safer for the college community and all pedestrians. Moreover, given that there are thousands of daily crossings on East 25th Street between the Newman Vertical Campus and the Library Building, and that there is relatively low visibility in the area in the evening, the community came together to push for the installation of the new lighting.

WHAT: “Turn on the Lights” ceremony in front of the Newman Vertical Campus entrance of Baruch College. This ceremony will begin with a reception in the lobby of the Library Building and culminate outdoors at sunset with the lighting ceremony.
