Proposed Tuition Increases to Go Before CUNY Board
BARUCH COLLEGE, NEW YORK, NY (6/03/03) - At its June 23 meeting the board of trustees for the City University of New York will consider a schedule of tuition increases aimed at covering budget cuts implemented by the New York State Legislature, which is contending with severe shortfalls in state revenues for next year and beyond.
A committee of CUNY trustees working with Chancellor Matthew Goldstein put forward the proposed schedule of tuition increases, the first since 1994. The largest increases are for out-of-state students and students studying in the United States on visas. Undergraduate and graduate degree programs are also affected differently. For a schedule of proposed increases and other information pertaining to tuition and financial aid, see the Baruch information page on tuition increases.
