Ted Joyce, professor of economics at Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business, has been named a co-editor of The Journal of Policy Analysis and Management (JPAM), the leading U.S. research publication in the field of management and public policy. Joyce will be in charge of acquiring, assessing, and assigning reviews of articles dealing with issues of health and healthcare. Approximately 25-30 such articles are submitted to JPAM in manuscript form each year by scholars from around the country.

Best known for his research on the impact of parental notification and other restrictions on abortion rights, Professor Joyce was the lead investigator of a milestone study on the incidence of abortion among teenagers in Texas. The study, published in March 2006 in the New England Journal of Medicine, received national media coverage. Professor Joyce has been at Baruch College since 1986 and is currently looking at the effectiveness of WIC, the federally funded nutrition program for Women, Infants and Children, on the health of pregnant women and their babies.

JPAM is published quarterly by John Wiley & Sons. Launched in 1981, it is the flagship publication of the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management, a professional group that is dedicated to fostering excellence in research, analysis and education. The Association holds an annual multidisciplinary research conference and other events throughout the academic year.
