Public Affairs Professor Doug Muzzio
Gets Emmy Nomination for "City Talk"

March 2, 2005--Doug Muzzio, professor of public affairs and renowned political commentator and expert on government, has been nominated for an Emmy Award for his CUNY-TV series, “City Talk.” Muzzio, who at one time or another has interviewed most of New York’s prominent political honchos, was cited in the category “Political Programming: Series.”

The awards ceremony takes place on April 3, 2005 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

Muzzio’s recent guests on “City Talk” have included former Governor Mario Cuomo, New York City Comptroller William Thompson, former Bronx Borough President and current mayoral candidate Freddie Ferrer, and journalist Jack Newfield. The show airs every Wednesday at 9:30 am, 4:30pm and 9:30 pm, with additional weekend showings.

In addition to “City Talk,” Professor Muzzio provides political commentary every Sunday morning on WABC-TV’s Eyewitness News Up Close with Diana Williams, as well as providing addtional commentary for the channel during the election season.
