BARUCH COLLEGE PLAYER AND COACH TOP ALL-MET DIVISION III WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM

      White Plains, NY, April 14, 2006--Chiresse Paradise of Baruch was named 2005-06 All-Met Division III women’s college basketball player of the year Friday by the National Invitation Tournament and the Met Basketball Writers Association.
 
      Machli Joseph of Baruch was selected coach of the year.
 
      Joining Paradise on the All-Met first team: LaSheena Brown, Mount St. Mary; Kim Thompson, Staten Island; Stephanie Machin, Montclair State; Mercedes Miller, Farmingdale State; Karen Bachman, NYU.
 
      The All-Met second team comprised: Latrese McNair, New Jersey City; Dora Enright, Stevens Tech; Luci Custis, William Paterson; Lashannen Hogue, John Jay; Chari’ Cooper, Paulsboro, N.J..
 
      Paradise, a 5-8, sophomore guard from Chicago and the CUNYAC player of the year, led the Bearcats with 16.2 ppg, 86 steals and 31 blocked shots.
 
      Joseph, also named CUNYAC coach of the year, guided Baruch (23-7) to a school record for wins and its first NCAA tournament appearance, including a first round victory.
