Baruch Alumna Maite Quinn (’05) Makes Crain’s 40 Under 40 Issue for 2007
New York, NY -- February 13, 2007 -- Maite Quinn ('05), an executive MBA alumna of Baruch College's Zicklin School of Business and president of Sprint Recycling, was ranked in the 40 Under 40 issue of Crain's New York Business for 2007.
The publication's annual special report is renowned in the business world as a glimpse at the cream of the crop from a wide variety of industries. The rising stars profiled in the 2007 issue were chosen from a record-setting 800 candidates.
According to the article, "Scrappy Maven of Recycling," Quinn began working at Sprint four years ago as a freelance marketing specialist and is now one the highest-ranking women in the recycling industry. A nine year-old company with over $20 million in revenue, Sprint turns commercial trash into reusable material. In a "tough business with terrible margins," Quinn's innovative strategies have made the company "the largest recycler of office paper in New York City," according to Sprint Chairman Joseph Donnolo.
"I saw there was an opportunity to build the company and--no matter how corny this sounds--to do something for the environment," she is quoted as saying.
