Philosophy Professor Stages New Play
BARUCH COLLEGE, NEW YORK, NY (9/19/02) An excerpt from Dr. Douglas Lackeys new play, Kaddish in East Jerusalem: An Incident in the Intifada, will be staged on Monday, September 30 at the Theater for the New City. Part of a fundraising event that will present a dozen selections from the Theaters upcoming season, Kaddish is a tragedy centered around the relationship between Salem, an Arab committed to nonviolent political action, and Irina, his Ukrainian Jewish girlfriend. The event will also feature celebrity guests and a silent auction of theater memorabilia. Kaddish in East Jerusalem will begin its performance run on March 13th, 2002.
Douglas Lackey has been a professor in the Baruch College Philosophy Department since 1972. He also teaches at the City University of New York Graduate Center.
