Rising Prominence of Baruch College Reflected in Success of International Business Programs
NEW YORK, NY, Sept. 7, 2010 – The growing appeal of a Baruch College education for students around the world continues to propel the College’s international presence in higher education. In response to this momentum, Baruch College announced that it has awarded The Parsons Group International Education, Inc. (TPGIE) a three-year contract to manage its International Executive Program. TPGIE specializes in creating and providing operations for global satellite campuses of U.S. degree-granting executive education programs.
The International Executive Program, which is offered through Baruch’s Zicklin School of Business and its Weissman School of Arts and Sciences, includes one-year Executive Masters Degree offerings in Finance; Marketing; Management of Human Resources and Global Leadership; Industrial and Organizational Psychology; and Management of Information Systems. Since inception in 2001, more than 1,200 students have successfully graduated from these programs. Each received a Master of Science degree from the City University of New York and a certificate from either the Zicklin School of Business or the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences—the same diplomas students receive upon graduation from these programs in the U.S. Additional new programs being considered include Entrepreneurship and an Executive Master of Business Administration.
The College’s International Executive Program has been offered in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and France. Other locations, including Korea, are being studied for future programs.
“The demand for Baruch College’s International Executive Program is driven by growing recognition of and respect for all that Baruch has to offer,” said John Elliott, Dean of the Zicklin School of Business. “For ambitious professionals around the world who want to enhance their careers through a focused, expedited course of study, these programs offer the quality and prestige of a Baruch College education, available close to home.”
Courses in the International Executive Program comply with all Baruch College rules and academic guidelines governing content and faculty selection, as well as program and grading guidelines, and are taught in English by Baruch faculty.
