Waldron, Six Others Honored
at Baruch for Women’s History Month
--Manhattan Borough President Pays Tribute to Accomplished Women on March 23--
President
Kathleen Waldron is one of seven women to
be honored this week by Manhattan Borough President C. Virginia
Fields for outstanding accomplishments in their chosen professions.
The ceremony takes place on Wednesday, March 23 in the Conference
Center, room 14-220, of the William & Anita Newman Vertical Campus.
Billed as "A Salute To Extraordinary Women",
the celebration is part of this year's ongoing Women’s
History Month festivities. Other exceptional women to be honored
include Reverend Dr. Henrietta Carter of
the Mariners Temple Baptist Church; Dr. Dolores M.
Fernandez, president of Hostos Community College;
Dr. Ramona Hernandez, professor of sociology
and director of CUNY’s Dominican Studies Institute;
Shirley Huntley, president of District 28’s
Community Education Council; the Right Reverend Catherine
S. Roskam of the Episcopal Diocese of New York; Reshma
Saujani, a lawyer and South Asian-American political
activist; and Baruch’s President Waldron.
