GLOBALIZATION AND THE GOOD CORPORATION:
AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
Organized by the International Center for Corporate Accountability (ICCA) at Baruch College on June 26–28, 2007
Corporate social responsibility and all its economic, environmental, and human rights implications will be the theme of Globalization and the Good Corporation, a 3-day international conference to be held at Baruch College on June 26–28.
Organized by the International Center for Corporate Accountability (ICCA), the conference brings together dozens of stakeholders and analysts from major corporations, international financial organizations, NGOs, and universities.
Panel discussions and breakout sessions will address such topics as “Marketplace Innovations for Reducing Global Poverty,” “Trends in Corporate Citizenship,” “The Role of Ethics and Compliance Officers in Large Corporations,” “Industry-Wide Voluntary Approaches to Corporate Social Responsibility,” and “Doing Good: The Impact of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability on Corporate Reputation.”
Participating individuals and organizations come from as far away as Australia, South Africa, Thailand, China, Mexico, Bolivia, and India. Major corporations taking part in this unique event include ABN AMRO, BP, Chevron, Hewlett-Packard, Merck & Company, Ford Motor Company, Xerox Corporation, and Pfizer.
Globalization and the Good Corporation takes place at the Baruch College Newman Vertical Campus, 55 Lexington Avenue, 14th floor. The conference opens at 8:30 am on Tuesday, June 26, with welcoming remarks by Dr. S. Prakash Sethi, president of the ICCA, University Distinguished Professor of Management at Baruch College, and a well-known writer and speaker on corporate social responsibility and corporate codes of conduct.
A keynote address by Kathleen Waldron, president of Baruch College, takes place at 8:40 am, followed by the first plenary session devoted to “Social Responsibility Through Corporate Business School Partnerships.” The conference will conclude on Thursday evening with a gala dinner in the UN Delegates Room for all participants.
