Baruch College and AT&T Host Nationwide Fast Pitch Competition
Winners selected in four categories
NEW YORK, NY- May 16, 2012 – Baruch College and AT&T presented entrepreneurs from around United States an opportunity to capitalize on their problem-solving skills and business development expertise by competing in the AT&T and Baruch College Fast Pitch Competition.
More than 100 entries were submitted for the two-month-long competition, which was hosted through the Field Center for Entrepreneurship in the Zicklin School of Business. Competitors selected a competition track to follow for submitting their projects. The competition tracks were Wealth (focusing on e-commerce, retailing business services, advertising); Education & Health (focusing on Classroom collaboration, teaching aids, educational gamification, sports, diagnostics); and Enjoyment (focusing on social networking, gaming, entertainment of all kinds).
Teams competed for a prize of $2,000 in each competition track. The winners were: Estimize, Leigh Drogen, presenter and CEO (Wealth track); GZPoints.com, Kofi Frimpong, presenter and CEO (Education & Health track); Zazum, Inc., James Martinez, presenter NON-CEO (Enjoyment track); and Pixleee, Awad Sayeed a Baruch student, presenter and CEO (Student track).
Beginning in March, teams developed executive summary templates and two-minute video pitches. On May 15, eight finalists made their five-minute presentations to a panel of judges from Baruch College, AT&T and other technology and financial organizations.
