Theater Series Exposes New Talents To Baruch Stage
BARUCH COLLEGE, NEW YORK, NY (1/23/03) -- Exposures, the first in a series of theatrical events featuring young luminaries of the performing arts, is coming to the Baruch College Performing Arts Center beginning Tuesday, January 28. Produced by Center Director Eric Krebs, the event is a mlange of comedy, poetry and drama presented by five acclaimed performers: Regie Cabico, D. Rubin Green, Vanessa Hidary, Vijay Nathan and Marisa Vural. Each artist performs individually in front of an American flag, sharing stories of immigration struggles, trans-racial unions and the enduring problems of American society.
Krebs conceived the idea with director Rajendra Ramoon Maharaj as a way to draw the professional theatrical world to the Colleges brand-new performance facilities. The student play Marisol, directed by Professor Debbie Saivetz, inaugurated the Rose Nagelberg Theater last semester to rave reviews.
Exposures has a limited six-performance run at the Rose Nagelberg Theater, located on the B-2 Level of the Newman Vertical Campus. Tuesday through Saturday, the performances begin at 8:00 PM. The Sunday performance begins at 7:00 PM. All performances run for 75 minutes with no intermission. Tickets are free. Call 212-967-7079 for reservations and more information.
