A STATEMENT ON FACULTY DIVERSITY
We have begun a new academic year in our new academic home at this, the most diverse college in the United States. Our students come from many lands and speak many languages. They reflect many cultures and traditions. The richness of this diversity enhances the environment in which students learn and faculty teach here at Baruch. It is an environment we seek to promote, nurture, and strengthen.
Baruch’s Task Force on Faculty Diversity, established last year, has developed goals and timetables to extend this valuable attribute of our college. It will work closely with the academic departments as they develop and implement techniques and strategies to expand the pool of minority candidates for faculty and staff positions at the college. There will be an annual assessment of recruitment and retention plans and activities to determine our progress in attaining the objective of increased faculty and staff diversity.
