University, arts and diplomatic happenings will converge at Baruch College on January 24th, 2002 at a pre-opening reception for the Jamaican art exhibition, In the Fullness of Time: Island Culture and the Well-Grounded Memory. The Hon. Dr. Richard Bernal O.J. (Jamaica's former Ambassador to the United States and representative to the OAS, and current lead negotiator for the Caribbean Community’s Regional Negotiating Machinery), and his wife Margaret (President of the Jamaica Artists Alliance) will serve as Honorary Patrons.
Other honored invitees include six current Caribbean Heads of State who will be in New York City for the Annual Gala Benefit of the University of the West Indies. The special guests include the Prime Ministers of St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Grenada and Jamaica.
This special pre-opening event for In the Fullness of Time is funded by Baruch's Office of the President, and the College's Alumni Association, including its DC Chapter. The exhibition features the works of 18 artists, and will officially open to the public at a reception in the Mishkin Gallery on the evening of January 31, 2002. The exhibition closes on March 1, 2002.
The Gallery is located at 135 East 22nd Street. Gallery hours are Monday to Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and Thursday noon to 7 p.m.
