Baruch College Presents  Financial Markets Conference, "Rapidly Changing Securities Markets: Who Are the Initiators?"

NEW YORK, NY- September 19, 2012 The Zicklin School of Business is hosting this all-day conference on Tuesday, October 9, at Baruch College, 55 Lexington Avenue at 24th Street, on the 14th floor of the William and Anita Newman Vertical Campus.

In the 15 years that have passed since the 1997 Order Handling Rules were instituted, the equity markets have experienced tremendous technology innovation, intensified competition between an expanding set of alternative trading venues, and continuing regulatory change. During the conference, industry professionals and academicians will examine the evolution of the markets with regard to structural and regulatory change, and the players who have been the initiators.

Following opening remarks from Baruch College President Mitchel Wallerstein and Robert A. Schwartz, Speiser Professor of Finance, Zicklin School of Business, the opening address will be presented by Richard Lindsey, CEO, Callcott Group LLC, at 9 a.m. A mid-day address at 11:00 a.m. will be delivered by Frank Hatheway, Chief Economist, The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc., and the luncheon address at 1:30 p.m. will be delivered by Harold Bradley, Former Chief Investment Officer, Kauffman Foundation. Jeffrey Sprecher, Chairman & CEO, IntercontinentalExchange will present the Closing Address at 4:30 p.m.
