NEW YORK, NY-February 14, 2013 Dr. Michael Goodman, Professor of Corporate Communication, Director of CCI Corporate Communication International, and Director of the MA Program in Corporate Communication at Baruch College, has been invited to present two prestigious lectures during Spring 2013.

On March 7, Dr. Goodman will lead a Masterclass in” Corporate Communication for Public Organizations” at the European Commission in Brussels. Dr. Goodman will share the theoretical framework and concept of corporate communication as a strategic management function. He will talk about the socio-economic changes and challenges which create the need for an ever more coherent and efficient approach to communication in large private and public organizations alike. Dr. Goodman will highlight which aspects of corporate communication can be usefully applied to public organizations in their drive to strengthen the organization’s image and reputation.

Dr. Goodman has also been invited to give the Turpin Lecture on April 2, during Virginia Commonwealth University’s (VCU) Communication Week. The Turpin Lecture is a prestigious event that was created in 2002 by former students who wished to honor Dr. William H. Turpin for his dedication to journalism and mass communications. The lecture is open to both the University and outside community. Past Turpin speakers have included Associated Press CEO Tom Curley, Tumblr founder David Karp, and Corporation for Public Broadcasting CEO Patricia Harrison.

Dr. Goodman became a full-time faculty member at Baruch in 2007. Dr. Goodman earned his undergraduate degree in English from the University of Texas at Austin and his M.A. and Ph.D., both in English, from SUNY Stony Brook. In addition to teaching at Baruch, Dr. Goodman has been a visiting professor at Bangkok University, Hong Kong Polytechnic, the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, and the Arhus School of Business at Denmark’s Arhus University (where he taught last summer). He has published widely, including Corporate Communication: Strategic Adaptation for Global Practice and Work with Anyone Anywhere: A Guide to Global Business.
