Baruch College's School of Public Affairs Hosts Forum on Higher Education Innovation, Featuring
IBM Executive Stan Litow
NEW YORK, NY- February 11, 2014 - The Higher Education Innovations Project at Baruch College and the Shelley & Donald Rubin Foundation welcome Stan Litow, IBM’s Vice President of Corporate Citizenship and Corporate Affairs, as featured guest speaker for the Forum on Higher Education Innovation on February 25.
Litow, also President of the IBM International Foundation, will speak about IBM’s efforts in implementing new models for innovative educational programs that combine high school and college curricula in an integrated program of academics, experiential learning, internships and on-the-job field experience. He will also talk about the challenges faced in changing the culture and paradigms of the higher education community, including IBM’s creation of Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH), and building partnerships with the New York City Department of Education, the City University of New York, and New York City College of Technology.
Litow is a frequent keynote speaker and panelist at major conferences on philanthropy and corporate leadership in the United States and around the world. His articles and commentaries have appeared in numerous publications. Under his leadership, IBM has been widely regarded as the global leader in corporate citizenship and praised for societal, civic and environmental leadership and labor practices. Prior to joining IBM, Litow was founder of Interface, a privately financed think tank devoted to improving education in NYC public schools, and served as Deputy Chancellor of New York City Public Schools.
