in National Tournament

The Baruch Debate Team’s Dmitriy Povazhuk and Vadim Yerokhin (’09) successfully reached the Octafinal round of the Novice and Junior Varsity National Tournament, and placed 5th among 52 teams competing in the Novice Division. Povazhuk individually won 20th place Speaker Award. Other Baruch students competing were Jae Chung, Paola Feliz, Ashlee Vega, and Danielle Lemberg, team president.

Held at West Virginia University on March 3-5, the tournament hosted more than 150 teams from over 80 colleges and universities nationwide, including Bard, Cornell, Dartmouth, and the U.S. Army and Naval Academies.

The Baruch Debate Team (a.k.a. The Baruch College Forensics Club) has met with success at various venues throughout the year, despite having been formed only a year ago and competing since fall ’05. Congratulations to the Baruch Debate Team!
