Baruch's Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship Earns National Award
NEW YORK, NY-October 10, 2012 – The Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship at Baruch College recently received the award for Outstanding Contributions to Advance the Discipline of Entrepreneurship given by the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC).
Colleges and universities from across the nation submitted reports for award consideration. The GCEC reviewed each entry in areas including: economic development and community outreach; service to the discipline; entrepreneurship education development and mentoring; outreach programs; and stimulation of entrepreneurial opportunity. Baruch College received this award alongside the University of Arizona.
Baruch College recently placed at #21 on the “Top 25 Undergraduate Programs for Entrepreneurship” list released by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine. For the fifth year in a row, the College was chosen for this annual list from more than 2,000 schools surveyed by The Princeton Review for Entrepreneur magazine.
Undergraduate and graduate academic programs in entrepreneurship at Baruch College are under the auspices of The Lawrence N. Field Programs in Entrepreneurship based at the Zicklin School of Business. In addition to academics, the Field Programs conduct internationally recognized research and offer an extensive array of counseling and consulting services through the Baruch Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship.
The Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC) was established in 1997 for the purpose of becoming the key junction for university-based entrepreneurship centers across the U.S. to collaborate, communicate, and jointly advance excellence in entrepreneurship through the unique role and position of the centers in the academic and business communities.
