Baruch Explores "The Business of Jazz"
at Panel Discussion on Oct. 17
New York, NY - October 17--Baruch's Milt Hinton Jazz Perspectives Concert Series and the Jazz Journalists Association will present "The Business of Jazz", a discussion that convenes artists, record company representatives, journalists, and interested jazz fans participating in a moderated discussion, on Tuesday, Oct. 17, from 12:45 to 2:15 PM.
The event will take place in Room 3-160 of the Newman Vertical Campus and is free and open to the public.
Panelists include James Browne, owner of the Sweet Rhythm music club; Karen Kennedy, principal of 24Seven Artists Management; Jason Lindner, a pianist, composer, bandleader, and recordng artist; and Doug Yoel, president of Now Forward Music and United States marketing and management representative of Dreyfus Records.
The Jazz Journalists Association, a not-for-profit organization of some 400 writers, broadcasters, photographers, and new media
workers in jazz, honors musicians and patrons each year at its annual Jazz Journalists Association (JJA) Awards. Howard Mandel, president of the JJA, will moderate the panel.
