Jackson Liang

NEW YORK, NY-March 5, 2015 -Baruch College student Jackson Liang, a senior marketing major with a focus on advertising at the Zicklin School of Business has been named a recipient of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Most Promising Multicultural Student Award 2015. This award is presented to students with diverse backgrounds who display the highest potential in the advertising industry. The Most Promising Multicultural Students Program (MPMS) is part of the AAF’s initiative to promote diversity and inclusion within the industry. The AAF’s Most Promising Multicultural Students program connects the advertising industry with the nation’s top minority college seniors and provides opportunities to recruit fresh talent, to further prepare advertising’s best young prospects and to help the industry’s workforce better reflect the multiculturalism of today’s society.

Most Promising Students represent the top of their class and have already demonstrated success in their industry through leadership activities, internships, community service, creativity and innovation. For Jackson Liang, who will be graduating in May of this year, the recognition from the AAF holds great meaning. “This is award is great affirmation that I’m doing something right.” said Jackson.

Over the course of his undergraduate career, Jackson has interned for a number of prestigious agencies, including 360i, NBCUniversal and Disney ABC Television Group. These opportunities, he recognizes, have been made possible by being a Baruch College student in the hub of the advertising industry. “Attending Baruch has allowed me to be in the center of the advertising industry. Just walk down to Times Square and you’ll know why NYC is the home to many major agencies, networks and brands.”

He continues. “I interned a lot throughout my time in college. I started out at non-profits and start-ups because I lacked experience and, as I matured my skills, I landed great opportunities at major agencies and networks.” With the recognition of his hard work and graduation looming ahead, Jackson is currently searching for “that one opportunity that lights a fire in me.”
