BCAA Presents 2005 Service Award to James Murphy
--AVP of Enrollment Praised as Dedicated Administrator--
The Baruch
College Alumni Association is pleased to announce that James
F. Murphy, assistant vice-president of enrollment, is the
recipient of this year’s Faculty Service Award, in recognition
of his many contributions to Baruch College over the past
three decades. A formal presentation will be held during BCAA’s
annual meeting on June 8th.
Mr. Murphy is admired and highly regarded by his staff and
colleagues for his dedication and unwavering good spirits.
During his distinguished career at Baruch College, he has
held a number of key positions within registration, admissions
and financial aid.
He
is currently a member of the American College Testing New
York State Advisory Board, the Collegiate Funding Services
Advisory Board, and the New York State Higher Education Services
Corporation TAP & Loan Advisory Committees. He is also
a past chairman of the CUNY Council of Admissions Directors,
the CUNY Council of Financial Aid Directors and NASFAA. Mr.
Murphy has a master's degree in educational administration
from Baruch College, and a bachelor of arts in political science
from St. John's University.
He has two children with his wife Patricia: James Jr., fifteen
and Terence, eleven.
