CUNY MonthBaruch College Hosts The 10th Annual Russell Banks CEO Leadership Lecture Series

New York, NY, November 9, 2011 ? Baruch College will host the 10th Annual Russell Banks CEO Leadership Lecture Series featuring a conversation with Richard Grasso, former Chairman and CEO of The New York Stock Exchange on Thursday, November 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.? This free event, moderated by Dean John Elliott of the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, is part of CUNY Month, which celebrates the dynamic programming offered to the community by colleges and universities in the City University of New York.

Grasso served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The New York Stock Exchange from 1995 to 2003. He has been with the New York Stock Exchange in various positions since 1968 and previously served as Chairman of the Economic Club of New York and Vice Chairman of the National Italian American Foundation. He has been involved with several other organizations including as Member of the Board of The Centurion Foundation; Lower Manhattan Development Corporation; New York City Police Foundation; New York City Public Private Initiatives Inc.; New York University; Member of the Advisory Board of the Yale School of Management; Trustee of the Stony Brook Foundation; and Member of the International Capital Markets Advisory Committee of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Grasso has also served as a Director of Home Depot Inc. (2002-2004), New York Stock Exchange, Inc. and the Business Council of New York State, Inc.

The Russell Banks CEO Leadership Lecture Series at Baruch College was created in 1996 by the Banks Family Foundation, Inc. Distinguished speakers share their knowledge and expertise with Baruch’s students, faculty, and alumni under the sponsorship of Baruch’s Office of College Advancement. Russell Banks ('40) is an alumnus of Baruch College and a former adjunct Professor of Management.
