The Mishkin Collection

The Permanent Collection

The Gallery's permanent collection consists of over 300 artworks from the 20th century, featuring modern and contemporary paintings, sculpture, prints, and photographs.

The centerpiece of the Gallery's permanent holdings is the Mishkin Collection, the bequest of Sidney Mishkin ('34). Captivated by Surrealism, Mr. Mishkin focused his collection on this important 20th-century movement. The ten artworks include painting and sculpture by Surrealist pioneers Max Ernst, Andre Masson, and Man Ray. Also represented are major artists not directly tied to the Surrealist movement, including Alexander Calder, Marsden Hartley, and Barbara Hepworth.
