Process | Refresher Courses for the MFE Fall 2007 Cohort The
mathematics department has been offering refresher courses in C++,
Advanced Calculus, Probability, and Linear Algebra to students admitted
into the Financial Engineering MS Program since Summer 2004. The refresher
courses are different than regular undergraduate courses. The Advanced Calculus,
Probability and Linear Algebra courses focus on topics to be examined
in greater detail in the program, cover a number of challenging
financial applications, and are taught by experienced instructors from
the MFE faculty. The
C++ course is taught by the same instructors who teach the MTH 9815 C++
course, which insures that every student will be at the appropriate
level of programming proficiency when the semester starts. The refresher
courses are not for credit and are closed to people not admitted in the
Financial Engineering MS Program. The feedback
from the students who took the courses was overwhelmingly positive: 2004
