Baruch College offers a world of professional, intellectual, leadership, and multicultural opportunities. It was these opportunities that united us, Kenyan-born Nimisha and Kevin, a Trinidadian native. On Feb. 28, 2003, we locked eyes for the first time while awaiting interviews at Goldman Sachs. Nimisha initiated the first conversation, while Kevin, shocked at her beaming composition, said little as he tried to recompose himself for the interview. The following week, Kevin picked Nimisha out from a crowd of students going down the Vertical Campus second-floor escalator. Upon recognizing her, he jumped a couple of stairs and bounced into stunned students until he reached her. This was only the beginning of a wonderful friendship.

Our friendship blossomed into a relationship, through classroom interactions and leadership positions. Nimisha served as president of the Baruch Chapter of Golden Key International Honour Society in 2003, and Kevin was vice president of academic affairs, Undergraduate Student Government, from 2002 to 2004. During our final semester at Baruch, we motivated and coached each other as we interviewed for full-time positions.

It was during spring break 2004 that we decided to become husband and wife. Today, Nimisha works for Goldman Sachs as a financial analyst and Kevin is a business analyst at Citigroup. We often reminisce about Baruch and keep in touch with Baruch administrators who have become close friends. Our dream is to return to Baruch and share our professional experiences. For now, we dream of a bright future together.
