Baruch Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) Office (formerly IRB)

Student Researchers (Undergraduate, Graduate, Doctoral)

Undergraduate Student Investigators - With the exception of exempt research, undergraduate students may not serve as PIs unless they have a faculty advisor who fulfills the PI eligibility criteria and will sign the application, and who will serve as co-investigator and faculty advisor on the study. Student investigators and faculty advisors must receive appropriate training in human research protections.

Please note that all students are required to have faculty advisors. Once a student submits an application via IRB Manager, it is first forwarded to the faculty advisor. Faculty advisors must approve the application before it is forwarded to the IRB. For faculty advisor instructions, please click here.
