Professor Susan Locke
Director
Baruch College Honors Program

Welcome to the Baruch College Honors Program website. We hope that it will prove informative and useful to those of you who are considering applying to the Honors Program, as well as those of you who are currently participating in it.

Since its inception in 1978, the Honors Program has attracted to the college outstanding students and offered them an intellectually challenging and culturally enriched education. The program is committed to developing well-rounded individuals, engaged citizens, effective leaders, and graduates who are prepared for successful careers in business, finance, the public sector, and the professions.

Many of the students who are enrolled in the Honors Program are recruited directly from high school and are given full-tuition scholarships, as well as other benefits. Effective with the entering class of Fall 2001, these students are recruited via the CUNY Honors College Program and are designated University Scholars, as well as Baruch Scholars.

If they meet the Baruch College Honors Program's admission requirements, currently enrolled students may also join the Honors Program or enroll in some of the available honors classes.

As a long-time faculty advisor to the Scholars and as Director of the Baruch College Honors Program, I welcome all of you to this website and look forward to making the honors experience at Baruch a worthwhile one.

If the information provided by this website does not answer all of your questions about the Honors Program, please contact us at Baruch_Honors@baruch.cuny.edu or (646) 312-2120.

Douglas A. Medina
Associate Director
Baruch College Honors Program

I feel very fortunate to be part of the Baruch College Honors Program. One of the many pleasurable aspects of my position as Associate Director is having the opportunity to get to know our students on a one-on-one basis. Whether through advisement sessions or impromptu discussions about life, I am constantly amazed by the breadth and depth of knowledge and experiences that our students bring into the Honors Program. The privilege of working with our students has enriched my life in countless ways and I trust that together we will continue to build a community based on academic, intellectual and civic leadership.
