Satisfactory Academic Progress/ Good Academic Standing for Federal Aid

Undergraduate students must be in good academic standing and be making progress toward completion of their degree to receive federal financial aid. In order to make satisfactoy academic progress toward a degree, undergraduate students must, after their fourth semester, have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 and have successfully completed 75% minus18 credits of credits attempted.  Students may not receive federal financial aid for attempted credits that exceed 150% of the credits normally needed to complete the degree. 

Graduate students must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 and complete 75% of their attempted course work.  They may not attempt more than 150% of the credits normally required for the degree.

Waiver of Satisfactory Progress/ Good Academic Standing Requirement

Students who become academically ineligible to receive assistance from federal or institutional programs due to documentable circumstances may apply for a waiver of the the Good Academic Standing/Program Pursuit  requirement. These circumstances include illness, death of a family member, or other circumstances that may have adversely affected their academic performance.The waiver application is available in the Registrar's Office.
