Baruch College Hosts 15th Annual Financial Reporting Conference on May 5
Daylong Event Features Top Executives and Policymakers
from SEC, FASB, and PCAOB
NEW YORK, NY- April 26, 2016 - Accounting, business professionals, and media are invited to the 15th Annual Financial Reporting Conference on May 5 hosted by The Robert Zicklin Center for Corporate Integrity at Baruch College. This daylong conference serves as a forum for interaction between business and accounting executives and policy setters from the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).
The keynote speaker will be Jeanette M. Franzel who was appointed by the SEC as a member of the FASB in February 2012. Prior to joining the Board, Franzel served for almost 23 years at the Government Accountability Office. During her tenure, she supervised audits of large, complex agencies with annual budgets in the hundreds of billions of dollars, as well as small programs and agencies with limited resources.
Featured speakers include Wesley Bricker, SEC Deputy Chief Accountant; Marc Siegel, FASB Board Member; Susan Cosper, FASB Technical Director; Amie Thuener, Google’s Chief Accountant; and, Robert Laux, Microsoft Inc.’s Senior Director of Financial Accounting and Reporting, among others.
Panel discussions will focus on the new leasing standard; updates from the SEC’s Chief Accountant’s Office, Division of Enforcement and Division. of Corporation Finance; and, accounting for financial instruments.
Continuing Professional Education Credits: Up to nine credits in Accounting can be earned for attending the conference.
