PSC CUNY Submission Tips

Last updated on 10/9/2007

The Application deadline for the Regular Cycle is no later than 5pm on Monday, October 15th and the deadline for the Out-of-Cycle is no later than 5pm on Thursday, November 29th (internal deadline).

Here are some tips that can aide you with the electronic submission process:

1) New System vs. the Old System: The electronic system is an entirely new system thus the information that you electronically submitted last year (e.g., personal information, project description) will not be available via the current system.

2) Use the manual: Before using the system, please read the system manual (go to http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/grants/psc_cuny.html to download the manual).

3) Submission Process: When you click “submit”, Melissa Mendex (646-312-2207) or Zolicia Abotsi (646-312-2211) of the Sponsored Programs & Research Office will receive an email notification that your application has been submitted and the system awaits her review and institutional approval. Upon approval, she will submit your application to the Research Foundation.

4) What is the Program Code? The manual provided does not indicate a program code for the PSC CUNY Research Program for the Regular Cycle or Out-of-Cycle. Therefore, if you are prompted to input this information, please do the following to bypass this screen:

a. Log into the system at https://www.rfcuny.org/gp/welcome.aspx

b. Click “Applications”

c. Click either “Create” (to begin a new application) or “Open Saved Applications” (to continue entering information for your current application that you have yet to submit).

5) Application Submission Checklist: Before you click “submit” be sure that you have done the following:

a. Entered all of the relevant information in your profile! (Many faculty members are forgetting to include their academic information and information about their internal and external research awards for the last five years—this is required information.)

b. Print out a copy of the application before sending it to verify that all information was entered correctly! (To do this you will need to click “print” to obtain a copy of the application—the documents that you attached will not print)

c. For WSAS Faculty, sent a copy of the release time request approval by your department Chair and Dean Chase to the Sponsored Programs Office no later than the deadline! (You can submit your approval via email to Melissa Mendex or fax to 646-312-2206)

If you should have any questions about your submission and/or the electronic system, please contact Melissa Mendex (646-312-2207) or Zolicia Abotsi at (646-312-2211).
