The Baruch College Faculty Handbook
CUNY eMall
Last updated on 12/3/03
Letter dated 2 December 2003 from Brian T. Cohen, CUNY's Chief Information Officer:
Dear All,
I am pleased to
announce the launch of a new feature of the CUNY Portal --
the CUNY eMall. EMall is a virtual shopping plaza where you
can access offers for goods and services from various companies
that have extended a special discount to the CUNY community.
Among the many offers available, there is an opening special
on Dell computers (in the Computers and Office Supplies section)
as well as special discount coupons from Staples (for in-store
events this December), Eddie Bauer, Jos A Bank, Woodbury Commons,
theatre tickets, movie discounts, YMCA memberships, etc. We're
expecting Nextel to join the eMall in the Communications section
in the very near future. We are always working to add new
companies and offers -- some of them specifically targeted
for faculty and staff, others for students.
In just the first week, the CUNY eMall has already been a
money saving benefit to the CUNY community. A 20% CUNY discount
added to the Thanksgiving promotion at Eddie Bauer resulted
in a $100 savings for one staff member, and we're also hearing
about positive experiences with online ordering of computers
and peripherals from Dell.
In order to begin taking advantage of this benefit, register
and log in to portal (http://www.cuny.edu/portal-login.html)
and you should see the eMall's signature shopping bag logo
just above the Welcome message in the orange navigation bar
on the lower left. Click on the eMall link and you should
find your way into the eMall. If, as you browse your way around
the eMall you find any problems, please call the Help Desk
(212-541-0982) and ask to open an eMall problem.
Happy Shopping!!!
