Academic Integrity Committee

Last updated on 1/16/2006

The Academic Integrity Committeed superceded the Academic Integrity Taskforce in November 2004.

Activities in 2005-2006

Two significant developments in AY 2005-06:

  1. In March the committee (specifically the assessment subcommittee) led the college's participation in the Assessment Survey of the Center for Academic Integrity. More than 1,500 students (10%) and 140 faculty members (15%) completed the survey. More detailed results will be available in fall 2006, but a preliminary view suggests that Baruch's effort over the past three years to inform students and faculty about the procedures already in place has been successful.
  2. The committee created several subcommittees, each of which reported on developments at our last meeting of the year (April 24). The subcommittees will concentrate on the following issues/areas:
    • assessment
    • planning
    • classroom environment
    • plagiarism and other A.I.-related tutorials
