Director, Operational Performance Management, Specialized Services, Visiting Nurse Service of New York
Jacob Victory is currently the Director of Operational Performance Management, Specialized Services, at the Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY), the nation's largest not-for-profit home care and community-based organization serving the five boroughs of New York City and Westchester and Nassau counties. In this new role, he is responsible for developing and monitoring key financial, quality, growth, and capacity metrics and implementing operational strategies to improve the business and organizational performance of multiple clinical divisions within VNSNY.
Prior to this position, Jacob was Director of Operations for Rehabilitation Services at VNSNY and was responsible for the daily operations of VNSNY's Rehabilitation Services department that, through 500 physical, occupational and speech therapists, provides therapy services to over 52,000 patients annually accounting for over 560,000 therapy visits.
Prior to this position, Jacob was the Project Manager to the CEO at VNSNY for five years. In this position, he supported the President and CEO in developing and monitoring the agency's corporate strategies and targets; in serving as the chief liaison for 18 members of the executive team; in managing two strategic planning initiatives; in assisting the writing and researching of the CEO's presentations, many on long-term care policy, healthcare reform, the use of technology to improve care delivery, innovation, the economic impact on the shortages of home care's professional and paraprofessional staff and quality improvement; and involved in a large sample of corporate and Board of Directors-related projects dealing with marketing, workforce planning, charitable care, managed care planning, technology, risk management, and financial planning.
Jacob's background is in strategic planning and he has worked as a planner in the corporate offices of The NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, and served as Acting Director of Planning and Program Development at Cabrini Medical Center, where he developed a multi-pronged strategic approach in developing a geriatric product line that specialized in Alzheimer's and dementia care within Cabrini's acute, nursing home, and hospice facilities. He has also had residencies at the Physician Organization at the Weill Cornell Medical College and within the Chief Financial Officer's office at Clara Maass Medical Center in New Jersey.
Jacob was also selected as a fellow of Coro Leadership New York XX, a one year civic leadership program focused on leadership development and public policy issues of New York City ranging from NYC's finances, health care, infrastructure, arts and culture to economic development and education.
On the lighter side of life, Jacob is also a painter versed in abstract expressionism. He had his first show at the Puck Building at the Wagner Space Gallery in the spring of 2007 with a show titled, "Seeing Through Movement," were his abstract portraits and landscapes challenged the observer to distinguish the difference between "seeing" and "looking." He is also actively involved with the Arts and Business Council of New York and has assisted in the strategic planning initiatives of a young theater company and a flamenco dance company. Jacob is currently a Trustee of the Board of the Helene Fuld College of Nursing and an Interim Board Co-Chairman of the American Spanish Dance Theater (Danza Espana).
Jacob holds a BA, with college honors, in English Literature from Rutgers University and a MPA in Healthcare Finance and Management from NYU-The Wagner School of Public Service.
