Think College Now

Think College Now is a college exploration course that is offered to 9th grade students in select high schools. The development of Think College Now stemmed from the realization that most college preparatory programs are targeted at juniors and seniors, rather than younger high school students. Since most students do not start planning for college until they are almost ready to graduate from high school, they often fail to take necessary courses, maintain high grade point averages, or consistently prepare for college entrance examinations.

The goal of Think College Now is to increase students' awareness of why they should attend college after graduation and to educate students about what to do to start preparing for college. Think College Now also aims to develop students' communication skills, including: verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills.

Think College Now is a 10-week curriculum. It was designed for use during twice weekly one-hour after-school sessions.
